Drawing inspiration from the grandeur of the Palm Column of Sahure (ca. 2458–2446 BCE) in the Museum’s holdings, this piece references the elegance of ancient Egyptian forms, and features a striking piano-black finish, blending historical allure and modern sophistication seamlessly into your living space. HISTORIC PROVENANCE The Side Table Aswan is inspired by a monumental column that once surrounded an open courtyard in the Pharaoh Sahure's pyramid temple. Quarried at Aswan and transported over 500 miles to the pyramid site of Abusir, the original is one of 16 columns that were made from a single block of granite. . Our side table is inspired by the timeless grandeur and artisanship of ancient Egyptian architecture.
